A Dashboard is a user interface similar to a car dashboard. It organises and presents information in a way that is easy to read. It provides up-to-date status information on Key Performance Indicators (KPI). It presents information visually through Graphics, Charts, Gauges, Maps and Tables. The information is simply presented, easy to use, monitor and indicates where action needs to be taken. 

Dashboards are designed to help you monitor what's going on at a glance. Dashboards must be designed a particular way to take advantage of the strengths of visual perception and cognition and to work around or augment their weaknesses.
